| Friday morning is market day when a varied selection of products fills the square and invites the visitor to come closer, even if it is only to talk to the people.
The 25th of July is the fiesta of the patron saint of the Town, Sant Jaume, and several events take place during the day.
The most important fiesta is the Vermada, the fiesta of wine, which takes place during the last week of September. It is a most popular fiesta, with a parade of floats, live music, dances, singing, and most important of all, the wine. It attracts not only the local people, known as Binissalamers, but people from other towns of Mallorca.
